SOUNDBITE: (English) Hashim Amla, South Africa Test captain:

"It goes without saying that it's an honour and a privilege to be captaining the Test team. I have to pay tribute to Graeme (smith) and his leadership over the ten years that I have been involved (in the team) There is certainly a lot of value that he has added, a lot of value that we will take with us carrying on from here on. Throughout the years I have concentrated mainly on my batting. I have tried to become the best batsman possible and I hopefully I can still get better. But now I do feel that it's time to act, to contribute in the team environment and I'm really glad and humbled at this appointment so thank you very much to all of those involved. I really look forward to having a wonderful relationship with you good folks (the media)"
