European Under-21 Golden Boot winner Saul Niguez explained on Friday (7th July) his reasons to sign a nine-year contract with Atletico Madrid until 2026.

"This renewal makes me very happy. That means the club of my life is betting on me. Many people are surprised by all the years I have signed for, but when Miguel Angel (Gil Marin) proposed me to renew, I said that I would sign for as many years as they wanted to, because I′m where I want to be, I am happy. Like Enrique (Cerezo) said, the club is growing up, we are going to keep growing and I want to grow myself, I want to improve, and I want to do it with Atletico de Madrid."
