After an absence of three and a half years International cricket made a return to Pakistan on Saturday.

Pakistan All Stars defeated an International World XI by 84 runs in a Twenty20.

They set a target of 223 runs. The World XI made just 138 for eight off of their 20 overs.

The World XI - led by Sanath Jayasuriya and including players from South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies - visited Pakistan to promote the sport, and show to the world that Pakistan is safe place to play cricket.
Alvin Kallicharan, the World XI coach, said that the security in Pakistan had been great and that he was pleased at the way the spectators had responded to the return on the international game.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Alvin Kallicharan, coach International World XI: "No security problem, security has been great. There is nothing you can complain about. See all these people, Pakistani people I love. I was invited to come here. This extravaganza which I probably did not expect. It show how Pakistani people are starved for international cricket".

The second exhibition match will be played on Sunday the 21st of October.
