Group One play in the World Twenty20 Super Eights continued on Thursday evening with the West Indies winning the toss and opting to bat first against England.

Openers Chris Gayle and Johnson Charles have an explosive reputation in this form of the game, and both lived up to it, dispatching deliveries to all corners of the stands.

The Windies eased past the 100-run mark, but one delivery after dropping a catch, Steven Finn made amends by claiming the wicket of Gayle off Graeme Swann.

58 for Gayle, and 84 for Charles who sent one up to Jonny Bairstow off Jade Dernbach.

The Windies went on to post 179-5, and England's response got off to the worst possible start.

Craig Kieswetter went off the second ball, gifting Kieron Pollard a catch off the bowling of Ravi Rampaul.

And Rampaul struck again off the next ball - Luke Wright out for a golden duck, with Gayle taking the catch at slip.

Alex Hales ensured the innings would take on a more respectable appearance as he built a third-wicket partnership with Jonny Bairstow.

But their stand came to an end on 55 - Bairstow caught by Pollard, Gayle looked pretty happy.

Eoin Morgan came in and tried his best to wipe the smile off Gayle's face with a quickfire 71 off 36 balls.

But it was too little too late as the West Indies claimed a 15-run victory - England finishing their innings on 164 for 4.
