  • Intro:

After his man-of-the-match winning performance in the first Test against the West Indies at Lords where he took 11 wickets, cricketer Stuart Broad tried his hand at golf on Tuesday.

Ahead of the second Test at Trent Bridge, the England all-rounder accompanied former Masters Champion, Charl Schwartzel for a session with a difference.

SOUNDBITE (English) Stuart Broad, England cricketer
"We (England team) talked before the series about not doing that - it's one of our team principles about complacency. They've (West Indies) shown that they're dangerous and we worked really hard for this Test match victory. It felt really good to win yesterday but it means nothing if we don't start well on friday."

    SOUNDBITE (English) Broad
"I don't get as frustrated on the golf course as I do sometimes when I get nicked in the slips for four. It's a bit easier to keep your composure on the golf course."

    SOUNDBITE (English) Broad
"It's a huge honour to have an opportunity like this to get some tips from a Masters champion. For me it's all about slowing the swing down. I think I get a bit excited. It's like when I'm batting, I try and hit the ball as hard as I can. It's all about keeping the tempo down and relaxing into the swing. I've learnt a lot today, hopefully put it into practice on the course this afternoon and win some money off the lads."

SOUNDBITE (English) Charl Schwartzel, South African golfer
"I've played lots of cricket. I was an opening bowler at a school. My dad coached me and he made me not play much cricket. He said that there are some very bad habits that you can get into that could affect your golf and golf to me was always the number one."
