  • Intro:

Post-game sound after the Golden State Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies 98-78 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semi-finals on Wednesday at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE (English): Steve Kerr, Golden State Warriors Head Coach

"The first ten minutes were not pretty. The crowd was anxious. I thought we were a little tight. I thought we came out a little nervous. And I thought we, we settled in there. That was the key stretch in the game, the end of the first quarter. We go from down, what were we down ten, twelve, to actually having the lead. I thought it was a miracle we had the lead after the first quarter, the way that game went. But it was an important stretch, we seemed to get our legs underneath us at that point. And that's when our defence really kicked in."

SOUNDBITE (English): Marc Gasol, Memphis Grizzlies Center

"Well we got to, I mean, to me it's never an excuse, I mean, you lose by one or lose how we lost tonight. And we still got to go back to Memphis and we want to be back here for game seven. I mean that's, there's no other way for me in my mind that we're going to go to Memphis with facing elimination and we're going to go back to Memphis and win. We know the crowd is going to be behind us. I have no doubt about that. I know our emotions and we're going to give it everything we have. And hopefully things are going to work out for us. We're going to try to execute a little better."

SOUNDBITE (English): Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors Guard

(On team's three-point efficiency and run in first quarter)

"Two of them (three-pointers) were just off of ball movement. Everybody's aggressive, looking to score, looking to get in the paint and if you draw a couple of defenders, you're able to move it on and that's when you get really easy looks. And you have confidence and knock those down. And it was a cool moment, obviously we were down a good amount in the first quarter and to get back into the game and get our crowd into it, to end that quarter as strong as we did was important for us going through that game."
