Brose Baskets Bamberg faced Strasbourg first up and the French side started well, leading 21-16 at the end of the first period. But a slam by Bamberg's Sharrod Ford made it 35-28.

A strong third period further extended the German champions' advantage to 66-45 - and the game was effectively over. Bamberg eventually finishing as comfortable 84-70 winners.

In the night's other fixture, a strong start made all the difference.

That early momentum was with Galatasaray as they stormed into a 51-33 half-time lead at Montepaschi Siena.

American Jamont Gordon and NBA veteran Carlos Arroya were instrumental in that opening burst.

After 20 minutes of such dominance, this game was in the Turkish side's hands.

And Galatasaray wrapped up a 84-75 win.
