Post-game reaction after the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Miami Heat 92-88 on Thursday (6th June) to win the first game of the NBA Finals.

Script:

SOUNBITE: (English) Tim Duncan, San Antonio Spurs Centre: "We're here to win. It doesn't matter how we're categorised. It's been a lot of years since we've been here and we're just happy to be back here. Old, veterans, whatever you want to call us, we're in the mix right now and just great to get the first game under our belts."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Tony Parker, San Antonio Spurs Guard, on his shot clock buzzer-beating jumper: "It felt forever, too. It was a crazy play. I thought I lost the ball like three or four times and it didn't work out like I wanted it to but, you know at the end I was just trying to get a shot up. It felt good when it left my hand and I was happy it went in."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Tony Parker, San Antonio Spurs Guard: "Miami is the defending champs. We know they're going to come back very strong in Game 2. We got a little bit lucky in Game 1 but sometimes that's what it takes in games, you know the details, a couple of possessions ... So we just have to stay focused. We know we have a long, long, long way to go. We know they're going to come back strong in Game 2."

SOUNDBITE: (English) LeBron James, Miami Heat Forward, on Miami being tired: "I could see it on a few of our guys faces, felt a little fatigued, still a little banged up from that seven game series (against Indiana) and they looked like they were rested in the fourth quarter - they took advantage of that. We had some mental mistakes. And we played some really good basketball but in the closing quarter we had some mental mistakes and this is the, there's only a couple of teams that you can't have mistakes against - especially in the fourth - and San Antonio is definitely the number one team."
