  • Intro:

Post-game reaction after the Indiana Pacers defeated the New York Knicks 82-71 on Saturday, May 11th, to take a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven series.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE (English) Roy Hibbert, Indiana Pacers Centre:

"I just wanted to be around the rim, tipping balls in and creating extra possessions. I'm trying to be aggressive, I work after practise every day on my hooks - left/right and running with the left and the right so they were falling for me tonight so I was happy about that."

SOUNDBITE (English) Frank Vogel, Indiana Pacers Head Coach, on Hibbert:

"Yeah well the way these guys play it is tough to get the ball into the post and you can fall into the trap of trying to overfeed it and lead to high turnover nights. You have to take advantage of your opportunities and we were able to get it to him at times but not enough for my liking but he got a lot of his stuff out of pure effort on the offensive glass and that is where he got a lot of his pure ball attempts and just a great from him all the way around."

SOUNDBITE (English) Mike Woodson, New York Knicks Head Coach:

"Offensively we just did not have anything, either team, it was an ugly game offensively. I though defensively we held in there and did what we needed to do but we just did not have any offensive pop for some reason so we have to figure that out."

SOUNDBITE (English) Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks Forward:

"Well we kind of got away from our schemes, speaking about defensive out there we got away from our schemes and the game plan of what we did in game two and I don't think we did that tonight. We will go back and look at that and make that adjustment for game 4. Here he got in going today, he (Hibbert) had a great game - 24 and 12. He had a great game - he got it going offensively he made some shots and he was a factor today."

SOUNDBITE (English) Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks Forward:

"Them guys took care of their home court tonight and we have a chance to swing the series back to out favour come here on Tuesday and like I said the playoffs are about adjustments - they made theirs and now it is our turn to make ours."
