"I'll always believe that I was making the jump from high school to the NBA because I knew I could compete at the highest level. I knew I could compete with the men. And ever since I made the jump I told myself, 'Okay, now you have to start over. Just because you're the best high school basketball player in the world, it doesn't give you the right to think you're the best NBA player in the world. So, now you have to start over.' So, I started from ground zero and I started to work on my game even harder. And it's rewarded me an opportunity to be standing up here today."

"Nothing that I receive individually isn't possible without those 14 guys (his Miami Heat teammates) because of what they sacrifice each and every day. You know, the sweat and the blood and the time and everything. I'll always know that with team success becomes individual prizes, individual accolades, but this really doesn't mean much to me. I'm humbled and I'm happy about it. But I wish there was 15 of these up here, because I'm with a great group of guys that allow me to be the MVP each and every night, so thank you."
