  • Intro:

Postgame reaction after the Atlanta Hawks blew out the Indiana Pacers 90-69 in Game 3 Saturday, (April 27), to narrow the best-of-seven series to 2-1. Game 4 is Monday night (April 29) in Atlanta, where the Hawks have won 12 straight over the Pacers dating to 2006.

    Script:

(English): Larry Drew, Atlanta Hawks Head Coach:

"Tonight I thought our guys just took the defensive challenge. Our defense was, you know, it was the thing that really got us going and you could see it early, you know, with the energy. We were really helping one another, I thought we did a really good job on the glass which, our first two games against this Indiana club, they have just pounded us on the glass. We responded tonight and did a really good job in getting bodies on people and keeping them off the glass. And then we got out and we got out and ran but this game tonight was just really just about us responding."

(English): Al Horford, Atlanta Hawks Forward-Center,

on the turnaround from Game 2:

"I think it has to do with the home crowd, the fans were great tonight and desperation, you are down 2-0 and you don't try to think of it like that but you know we knew, we knew what was at stake so we definitely came out and laid it all out on the line and now we understand that we have to regroup and get ready for Monday."

(English): Paul George, Indiana Pacers Forward:

"We wasn't surprised, we anticipated them coming out, really trying to pressure up and take us out of our comfort level and really try to disrupt stuff. We should have been ready for that, you know, we really preached that in practice and film so the whole team is on the same level in that aspect but it's just one of them nights. I mean, we made 22 baskets. That's ... We struggled at times offensively but we usually do a lot better than that."

(English): Frank Vogel, Indiana Pacers Head Coach:

"I think we were emotionally ready. I just thought they played with a greater desperation and we didn't handle it when they did."
