Ten reasons to look forward to 2010

Vancouver hosts the Winter Olympics in February. The Commonwealth Games are being staged in India and the European Championships in Spain. In football there's the early treat of the African Nations Cup. 2010 should be another cracking year for racing and the Heineken Cup is growing ever more in stature. And so on and so on.
Yet it's the unforeseeable that makes 2010 a year to look forward to. On January 1 2009, who would have thought Tiger Woods and Thierry Henry would end the year as the biggest villains in sport? That Kevin Pietersen would lose the England captaincy in such awkward circumstances? Who expected Usain Bolt to surpass the feats of the Beijing Olympics or that Andy Roddick's Wimbledon final with Federer would challenge the previous year's epic as one of the most memorable in history? Jenson Button wasn't sure he would be a Formula One driver at the start of the year - he finished it as World Champion.
2010 could be one to remember...
