30-year-old Chinese diver Wu Minxia talked to SNTV on Thursday (11th August) about her success in the women's three-metre synchronized springboard on Sunday (7th August), when she became the oldest female diver ever to win an Olympic gold medal.

"I didn't think too much about the result before the competition, but I did think about the chance of failure. Anything can happen and I just wanted to do my best during the competition and enjoy the process. As long as I still can stand on the three-metre springboard and give my best performance in the competition, I will be satisfied with myself as I have given my best."

"I really see this opportunity to compete as precious, as it has been a really tough process for me to continue my dream. I have experienced many setbacks and I had even thought about retirement, but I didn't give up because I have my dreams to accomplish. It is hard, because I would never have thought that I would face so many difficulties and challenges at the age of 30"
