France prepare for huge clash in Cardiff

Wednesday, February 24 2016 by SNTV
  • The French rugby team trained on Tuesday (23 February) ahead of their Six Nations match against Wales on Friday (26 February).

Two wins from their opening two Six Nations games has put a few smiles back on the faces of French rugby.

The 62-13 World Cup quarter-final defeat last year was undoubtedly a low point in the nations history.

France travel to Wales for their third Six Nations clash boasting a 100 per cent record, with Guy Noves, the new head coach, seeing an improvement in Les Bleus defence.

The former Toulouse No.1 will have perhaps have expected to win the two home games with Italy and Ireland, yet now comes the Welsh in Cardiff.

Wales have won the last four 6 Nations meetings and have some big names returning for the game at the Principality Stadium.

Alex Cuthbert, Bradley Davies and Dan Lydiate come in.

While France have issues on the wings with Teddy Thomas and Marvin O'Connor ruled out.

The one piece of good news for Guy Novès was that Maxime Machenaud expects to be fit, despite suffering an ankle injury on Saturday.

Yet win in Cardiff and the French will be eyeing up a potential Grand Slam decider with England in Paris.
