Cheika looking for big improvements

Saturday, August 27 2016 by SNTV
  • Michael Cheika on Friday (26th August) looked ahead to Australia and New Zealand's Rugby Championship match, with Australia looking to bounce back from their mauling in Sydney a week ago.

SOUNDBITE (English) Michael Cheika, Australia coach:

"It is going to be a difficult match to come into after last weekend. But I think that if we ... we broke them down this week and had a look at each person and what he can do to make a difference this weekend. And we feel like we are in a pretty good space. So we will see how we go."

SOUNDBITE (English) Michael Cheika, Australia coach:

"We will always spell out what is required to win. It is not about how long we have not won for here in New Zealand. I think that is more than evidenced. But I don't even think any of that is quite as important as making sure that we play better, a lot better, than we did last week. That is the direct return. That is the only good thing is that there is the opportunity to play again, six days later, or seven days later, whatever it is. And we are really eager for that. I know that like we said last week even more emphatically this week - there are not many people expecting us to do anything. But internally we understand exactly what we need to do."
