The seventh moguls event on the Freestyle Skiing World Cup circuit took place in Inawashiro, Japan on Saturday.

The men's competition looked to be a re-run of the Winter Olympics final from two weeks ago.

Mikael Kingsbury, who took silver in Sochi, was looking to get one over his compatriot and Olympic gold medallist, Alex Bilodeau.

Kingsbury's run was good enough for the podium and a bronze medal position.

Next down the run was Bilodeau and the nemesis of Kingsbury in the World Cup season and at the Olympics, he would have expected a run worthy of taking the gold here in Japan.

However, a fourth place finish was where the Olympic Champion would end up.

Instead, the winning run came from American Bradley Wilson. The man who finished 20th in Sochi was the surprise victor here.

Another Canadian, Marc-Antoine Gagnon, took the silver medal.

While it was an off day for the big names, Bilodeau still leads the overall standings by 30 points from Kingsbury.
