  • Intro:

Nicklas Backstrom returned to training with the Washington Capitals on Tuesday, after failing a doping test at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Washington Capitals coach Adam Oates:
"I mean he was given medicine that he's allowed to take. From my perspective that sounds wrong because you have a figure skater who's 90 pounds and a bobsledder who's 280 - everybody's body processes medicine differently. So if it's a drug that's allowed, the player took what he was allowed. And he talked to the team doctor who I believe has accepted responsibility. I just feel bad that it's gotten to this position for everybody."
