German camp looks to identify provenance of doping substance

    Police have carried out a search of the home of German biathlete Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle following her positive doping test at the Winter Olympics, Germany's Sochi Games team chief said on Saturday (February 22).

    SOUNDBITE (German): Dr Michael Vesper, Director General of German Olympic Committee:
    "Unfortunately right now it is not quite clear which of the food additives Evi Stachenbacher-Stehle was taking contained prohibited substances. We are communicating and working with our partners in order to identify what food additive that contained prohibited items was taken by the athlete."

    SOUNDBITE (German): Dr Michael Vesper, Director General of German Olympic Committee:
    "According to the rules we are going to request compensation of expenses from the athlete. There are legal frameworks that can be used in order to sort these compensations and these frameworks will be applied and we will see how much the compensation will be."
