Canada's David Duncan won the men's Ski Cross World Cup race in Italy on Sunday (22 December), Switzerland's Katrin Mueller crossing the line first for the women's.

    Script:

The weather was cold and grey, but that did nothing to dampen the competitors' spirits at the FIS Ski World Cross Cup.
The men's line-up saw tournament leader Canadian David Duncan face Austria's Andreas Matt, Germany's Daniel Bohnacker and another Canadian Brady Leman.
At the start Bohnacker's reaction was quickest and he took the lead and held it until the mid section when Duncan's experience showed and he forged ahead.
The Canadian kept ahead and crossed the finish line first, Matt was second, Bohnakcer third and Leman fourth.
The result means that Duncan remains at the top of the Ski Cross standings with 214 points, Matt is second on 205 and Leman third on 170.
Next was the women's final. Canada's Marielle Thompson was first out of the blocks, followed by Switzerland's Katrin Mueller and Germans Heidi Zacher and Anna Woerner.
Like the men's race Mueller tucked in close behind Thompson and overtook the Canadian on the mid section.
The Swiss then raced away to the finishing line, Thompson was second, Zacher third and Woerner fourth.
The result means that Thompson still leads the standings on 270 points, Mueller is joint second on 256 with compatriot Fanny Smith.
