    Canada's David Duncan claimed his first FIS Ski Cross World Cup victory on Saturday in San Candido, Italy.

    Alex Fiva of Switzerland came second, while Duncan's team-mate Brady Leman finished third.

    In the women's final, world champion Fanny Smith topped the leaderboard.

    The Swiss crossed the line ahead of Canada's Kelsey Serwa, with Anna Holmlund of Sweden taking bronze.

    Also in Italy, the World Cup downhill race was hosted by Val Gardena on Saturday.

    Canada's Erik Guay won the event in a time of 1 minute, 56.65 seconds to edge Kjetil Jansrud of Norway by 0.12 seconds.

    France's Johan Clarey was third in 1 minute, 56.89 seconds

    To Copper Mountain in the USA now, for the Freestyle World Cup slopestyle which took place on Saturday.

    In the women's competition, Canada's Dara Howell captured the top prize with a score of 87.60 points on her second run.

    Home favourite Darian Stevens came second with 85.40 points.

    American counterpart Grete Eliassen's 83.40 points was enough for third place.

    Norway's Andreas Haatveit won the men's event with 92.80 points. Nick Goepper of the USA was second while third spot went to Australia's Russell Henshaw.

    Zhang Xin took first place in the latest Freestyle Ski World Cup aerials round at the Bird's Nest stadium in Beijing, China on Saturday.

    Zhang delighted her home crowd with a total of 87.06 points.

    Australian Lydia Lassila had lead going into the super final but she had to settle for second. Xu Mengtao came third.
