The last round of the 2013 FIA GT Series saw a thrilling finale around the streets of the Azerbaijani capital Baku on Sunday.

Stephane Ortelli and Laurens Vanthoor not only raced to victory, but sealed the Series title for the WRT Audi team.

Ortelli took the lead following a confused start tha saw teammate Niki Mayr crash out at the first corner.

By the mandatory mid-race pit stop, Ortelli had lost the lead and Vanthoor had moved up into second.

The Belgian driver edged closer to race leader Alon Day and when his Merecedes SLS AMZ temporarily lost power, Vanthoor took full advantage.

He held on to the lead to clinch the win and the title:

SOUNDBITE (English): Laurens Vanthoor: "I honestly did not understand anything about the race. They told me I had won and I said, you're kidding me, but apparently yes, I do not know what happened, I was just driving to save everything, not to make any mistakes, not to touch anything, because we wanted to win the championship for our team WRT, and that is what we did and that's everything that matters. The win is great so, speechless."

The win was Vanthoor's second major title after winning the German F3 Championship back in 2009.
