For the third year in a row Wanning on the Chinese island of Hainan hosted the Swatch Girls Pro China as the 'Hawaii of Asia' attracted the 36 best female longboarders to compete for the ASP Women's Longboard World Championship.
2012 event winner Kelia Moniz from Hawaii, Chelsea Williams from Australia, Kassia Meador from the US, Brazil's Chloe Calmon and France's Justine Dupont dominated the early heats in the long, peeling left-handers.
On Friday the biggest crowd of the event so far gathered for the final day's drama.
And the tournament decider was a replay of the 2012 final as Moniz faced off with Williams.
Williams surfed consistently earning 6.25 points and a 6.10 points for her back up, but never really found the form she had earlier in the event.
In reply, Moniz stayed calm and in control, surfing with style for 7.00 points and 6.40-point rides, just showing the judges enough to overcome the world number two, much to her delight:

    SOUNDBITE (English) Kelia Moniz, winner:
"It definitely hasn't sunk in yet. I'm so excited though. It's been a long day and it's been a lot of thinking. The emotional part of it is now finished and now I just have to let all the glory sink in. Two times world champion in two years. I never would of expected this."
Her back to back victories in Hainan means Moniz can now add 2013 Women's Longboard World Champion to her honours role.
