American Zak Hale won the Burton Rail Days event in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday (16th November)

    Script:

Tokyo hosted the third edition of the Burton Rail Days Snowboard tournament.

The event saw sixteen riders compete using a variety of styles, such as rails, walls and transitions.

In the Finals Ian Sams took third place as he edged out his fellow American Dylan Thompson.

There was some joy for the home crowd as Japanese rider, Yuma Abe clinched second place.

His impressive backflip to alley oop wallride was enough to seal his spot.

However, he was topped by another American.

Zak Hale performed a wallride transfer to a lipslide on the rail before an alley oop wallride.

The fantastic combination proved to be strong for the rest of the field as he took top spot with a score of 88.67 and cheque for $15,000.
