Dutch team SAP Extreme Sailing Team capsize at the Extreme Sailing Series event in Florianopolis, Brazil.

    Script:

The Extreme Sailing Series in Florianopolis, got a little bit too extreme for the Danish team SAP.

Mid way through race seven, a sudden gust of wind caused them to capsize and their crew were sent hurtling towards the water.

The craft was recovered, but it's not certain whether SAP can continue racing.

SOUNDBITE (English) Jes Gram-Hansen, co-skipper/helm, SAP Extreme Sailing Team:

"Well, racing downwind and we got hit by a pretty big gust and well, the nose just dived in and we were unable to save the boat, so we just went over and... so that's a big setback for us, but fortunately, everyone's all right, so that's the way it is."

SOUNDBITE (English) Jes Gram-Hansen, co-skipper/helm, SAP Extreme Sailing Team:

"I mean, first now we have to understand how much damage there is to the boat. It doesn't look like the boat has taken too much damage, so maybe we can get a spare mast and rig the boat tonight and get sailing tomorrow, but it'll take a little time to understand that, but we've received a lot of help from all the other teams to get the boat safe back to shore, so a big thank to all the teams and yeah, let's see how we do tomorrow."
