Sebastien Ogier on course for ninth victory of the season

  • Intro:

Newly-crowned World Rally champion Sebastien Ogier is on course for his ninth victory of the season, having secured a 20.1-second lead in the season-ending WRC Wales Rally GB on Friday (15th November).

    Script:

France's Sebastien Ogier clinched his first World Rally Championship title in front of his home fans last month - and continued his dominant run of form on day two of the WRC Wales Rally GB.
Ogier combined speed with consistency to stay out of trouble, winning four of Friday's six stages to build a 20.1 second advantage over Volkswagen team-mate Jari-Matti Latvala.
Latvala is pushing hard to take Thierry Neuville's second place in the overall standings, and after a cautious start ended the morning with a stage victory.
Meanwhile, Neuville failed to capitalise on his speed through the morning stages, and is now more than a minute off the pace in third spot.
Robert Kubica's WRC debut came to a disappointing and muddy end after he rolled his Citroen DS3 at high speed on the opening stage of the day.
And Mikko Hirvonen's miserable season was compounded by yet another early exit, as he too rolled his DS3 in dramatic fashion.
Race organisers confirmed that Kubica, Hirvonen and their co-drivers all emerged unscathed.
