The Shanghai International Circuit was the venue for the penultimate round of the World Endurance Championship - the 6 Hours of Shanghai.

Alexander Wurz and Nicolas Lapierre of Toyota Racing - winners here in 2012 - started on pole in theirToyota TS030 Hybrid in front of the Audi car of Marcel Fassler, Benoit Treluyer and Andre Lotterer.

The battle for the race win was between the two teams.

It was the Toyota car that led into the final hour, but in a close duel, it was the Audi car that had the edge on fresher tyres.

It was left to Benoit Treluyer to take the chequered flag after 190 laps with their Toyota rivals 15.374 seconds behind.

Celebrations all round in the Audi garage as their colleagues Allan McNish, Tom Kristensen and Loic Duval clinched the World Endurance Championship title with one round to spare.

The last race of the season will take place in Bahrain on 30th November.
