SOUNDBITE: (English) Evan Lysacek: "For me I'm chasing a very lofty goal, trying to repeat as Olympic champion. Dick Button was the last man and the only American to do that in 1952 which is proof that it is quite a feat to accomplish. I never really thought or expected that I'd be chasing history in anything in my life growing up and getting into sports. So I'm humbled by it. It's very exciting just to imagine myself on team USA again because I realised even winning gold in Vancouver I was most proud of being an American - above being an Olympian, above being an Olympic champion, above being an athlete. Just proud to represent the USA."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Evan Lysacek (on his hiatus from competitive skating since the 2012 Olympics): "I enjoyed it for sure. Definitely enjoyed the experiences as they came to me, but I miss the structure. I miss the discipline of an athletes lifestyle. I really did miss the daily grind of it. I think in a lot of ways I wasn't cut out for stardom or fame. I never wanted any of that stuff. That never drove me. I always was driven by achievement only. And so when that spotlight shone a little brighter, I said, 'hey guys, this isn't for me.' I want to go back on that training rink. I'm not a reality (TV) person or a movie star, I'm an Olympic athlete and what makes me happy is representing my country and so in order to do that I've got to back to the training rink and start this process over again."
