The last four places at the Argo Group Gold Cup - the penultimate event on the 2013 Alpari World Match Racing Tour - were settled in Hamilton harbour on Friday.

America's Cup hero Ben Ainslie got off to a slow start against Bjorn Hansen's eWork Sailing Team, but after losing the first race the Briton - and his Ben Ainslie Racing Team - came back to win 3-1.

    SOUNDBITE: (English), Ben Ainslie:
"Today was the quarter final stages and we raced Bjorn Hansen and his team. We didn't have a very good first race but we managed to come back and win the next three and qualify for the semi finals. So it has been a good day and now we are looking forward to the pro-am race."

Ainslie's compatriot Ian Williams lost out to Taylor Canfield's USone team - the 24-year old Canfield guiding his side to a 3-1 victory.

New Zealand's Adam Minoprio edged a close battle with Keith Swinton's Black Swan Racing as they won the decisive match five to claim a 3-2 triumph.

Francesco Bruni of Italy completed the semi final line up after a comfortable win for Luna Rossa over Phil Robertson's Waka Racing by a 3-0 margin.
