Sir Ben Ainslie suffered his first defeat since winning the America's Cup as he was beaten in Argo Group Gold Cup qualifying in Bermuda.

Ainslee was beaten by Ian William, and both competitors reflected on the result -

SOUNDBITE: (English) Ian Williams "When we race Ben it's certainly our plan to try and keep it quite relaxed and just try and win the favoured side and race it out and we managed to do that quite nicely, we won the left side of the course and that came good for us, so really pleased to have got the win."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Sir Ben Ainslie "No I mean it was sort of even-ish start but those guys sailed really, really well. They had some good speed and sailed the shifts nicely and when you do that it's pretty hard to come back. So yeah hats off to them, but we'll just keep working on trying to get through to the next round."

Both sailors remain on course to reach the quarter-finals, Williams will face Sweden's Bjorn Hansen.
