Post-game reaction after the New York Rangers defeated the Washington Capitals 5-0 on Monday to advance in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

SOUNDBITE (English): Karl Alzner, Capitals Defenceman: "I guess its something you look at. Its an interesting stat, something to bring up, something to talk about, but we won the one against Boston. We were close last year, yea its just something you can look at but I don't think it means that the team isn't good in game seven. We just haven't been able to quite do it. I don't think it's something that's in our head, but you would definitely like to win those game sevens."

SOUNDBITE (English): Karl Alzner, Capitals Defenceman: "I don't think we played all that good. You just hope that the guys that are all back next year that you remember what it takes and how crappy of a feeling it is, not only to lose but to lose 5-0 in a game seven. You hope that everyone grows as a player and is better next year."

SOUNDBITE (English): John Tortarella, Rangers Coach: "We have a good group. We just stay with it. It's a group that I think totally understands just taking it one day at a time. You know, down 2-0, and I'm not trying to be a smart ass, I just didn't think we were that far off. I think a number of people felt down 2-0 you are not gonna get this done. And it's a tall hill to climb, but we just went about our business, trying to take it one game at a time, and Henrik was obviously fantastic through the series, and we found a way to get some momentum, win three out of four going into this game and we felt good about it."
