Protesting against the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Anti government groups take to the streets in an attempt to embarrass authorities.

Some set up makeshift road blocks in the form of fire - raising fresh concerns about this Sunday's F1 race.

Demonstrations have been mostly isolated to areas that are hotbeds of opposition to the ruling royal family.

Chairman of the Bahrain International Circuit Zayed Alzayani said they have not received any direct threats but that they are taking everything into account and want to produce a memorable event.

The country has faced more than two years of violence between the Sunni-led government and majority Shiites seeking a greater political voice.

The race was cancelled in 2011 because of an uprising that left at least 35 dead.

Last year's race went ahead - but only amidst clashes between police and protesters.
