Briton James Woods capped a fine season by securing the FIS Freestyle World Cup slopestyle crown in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

The 21-year-old added the title to his silver at the World Championship in Norway last month and a bronze at the Winter X Games in Aspen.

In his absence, American Lyman Currier took top spot after scoring 87.6 on this run.

Sweden's Oscar Wester finished in second with 86.2 with Norway's Felix Stridsberg-Usterud settling for third place with his best effort of 85.0.

But all eyes were on the eccentric Woods following his overall victory.

"Yeah, brilliant. Thank you very much. We've got the park crew from the event going wild. This is a fantastic way to top off the season. It was obviously my ultimate goal for this winter, so (it's) absolutely fantastic."

In the women's event American Alexi Micinski took first place after scoring 82.0 on her second run.

It was a comfortable victory for Micinski, with her compatriot Julia Marino managing a best effort of 65.0 for a second-placed finish.

Anna Willcox-Silfverberg completed the top three with 50.0.

American Keri Herman was the overall winner in the ladies' tour after she won the opening two rounds of the season.
