Ian Thorpe was on hand to back hosts Australia as they faced China and South Africa on the second and final day of the inaugural Aquatic Super Series tri-meet in Perth.

Overnight leaders Australia opened the day with a pair of wins then added more points when Matt Targett took the men's 50-metre freestyle in 22.00-seconds, James Magnussen settled for second while China's Lu Zhiwu took third.

Later, Australia took a 1 and 2 in the 200-metre breaststroke when Christian Sprenger won in 2 minutes, 11.27 seconds.

Sprenger, who took silver in the 100-metre breaststroke at the London Olympics, easily outdistanced teammate Brenton Rickard while Huang Yunkun of
    China claimed third.

The Aussies continued their dominance in the relays, they won both the women's and men's 4x100-metres relay - James Magnussen anchoring Australia's men's squad to victory in 3:18.33 with China second and South Africa third.

Australia extended its lead even further when London Olympic 100-metre backstroke silver medalist Emily Seebohm won her speciality in 59.77, beating second place Fu Yuanhui of China and Australia's Belinda Hocking, who finished third.

And so it was the hosts that finished top of the tables with a winning total of 370 points, China second with 282 while South Africa, which sent a young side missing all its Olympic stars, finished third with 152.
