Now at the halfway point in the race, Armel Le Cleac'h continues to lead the way, ahead of Francois Gabart, with Jean-Pierre Dick further adrift in third place.

Le Cleac'h has a slender cushion of just eight miles on his counterpart Gabart, having averaged over 19 knots overnight.

British skipper Alex Thomson was the quickest overnight on Christmas Eve and is now reaping the rewards, having secured fourth place.

Jean Le Cam occupies fifth place having broken away from sixth-placed Mike Golding on Gamesa.

Golding now trails Le Cam by more than 400 nautical miles.
