Hundreds of Chinese fans gathered at Beijing International Airport on Monday morning, waiting for their Olympic heroes to arrive.

No doubt, swimming sensation Sun Yang was one of their biggest targets.

Winning two gold medals, one silver and one bronze in London, Sun said he was still hoping to keep a low profile.

"I think I can stay grounded. Although I am an Olympic champion now, I don't think there is any difference between me and other people. We did well in these Games, but that doesn't mean we are superior to others."

Another athlete who can expect more attention is Ye Shiwen, now a double Olympic gold medal winner.

Doping speculation surrounded the Chinese teenager after she broke the world record and won her first gold medal in the 400m individual medley.

"Those (doping ) speculations did have some negative impact on me, but they are not big problems."

And those rumours certainly haven't done any harm to her reputation back home as the homecoming celebrations continue.
