Round eight of the 2012 MX1 Motocross World Championship season took place at Bastogne in Belgium on Sunday.

In the first race Antonio Cairoli made the decision to start race one from the centre of the gate, and it paid off because he stormed into the lead.

Clement Desalle started in sixth position, but worked his Suzuki through the field to finish in third place.

Paulin came second as victory in the first race went to the Italian Cairoli.

Pourcel, Bobryshev, Desalle and Cairoli all found themselves at the front in race two.

Pourcel led for the first two laps before Desalle took over for the next five.

Lurking in the background however was Cairoli, who gradually chipped away at the pack to go on and win comfortably by almost five seconds.

Cairoli extended his lead in the standings to 47 points over Desalle, with Pourcel six points further off the pace on 292.
