  • Intro:

Defending Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel visited New Jersey on Monday to take a look at the circuit for the Grand Prix of America, scheduled to run for the first time in June 2013.

    Script:

One day after a disappointing fourth place finish at the Canadian Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel was in New Jersey to drive around the new Grand Prix circuit.

The new course is scheduled to run for the first time in June 2013.

Vettel took an Infiniti IPL G Coupe around the planned 3.2-mile course rather than his usual Renault Red Bull Racing machine.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Sebastian Vettel, Formula One world champion:

"I think, you know, this place is exceptional, just, as I said earlier, just look around. I think there's no comparison in the world. You know, Monaco is very special for us - it has a lot of history, etcetera. but I think this race is going to be very, very great, and very soon will be one of the races every driver wants to win, no doubt. So, I'm really - as I said - I'm really, really pleased to be here today, but I'm really looking forward to next year, to jump in the car and see how it feels."

Vettel is currently third in the F1 standings behind Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.
