Intro:

With six races so far this season, six different drivers have topped the podium in this highly competitive formula one season.

Fernando Alonso who won the second of his back to back titles five seasons ago, swept to victory in the second race of the season in Malaysia, despite starting from fifth place on the grid.

He now leads the overall standings with 76 points, just three ahead of defending Champion Sebastian Vettel and his Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber who both have 73.

"I think it's just the beginning, the starting point. We know that the ultimate target will be leading the Championship after the final race in Brazil and this is (in) November. We know that it's a long Championship. We know that in terms of points the first six races brought us the necessary points to be in the group of the leaders who are leading now but we know that we need to improve. We need to make the car fast. We need to continue working hard, no mistakes and finding the consistency in this 2012 Championship is not the easiest thing to reach. So we're working hard but this is only - hopefully - the starting point of a good Championship."

I think the improvements we made in the car were all focusing on areas where we were not particularly strong at the beginning of the season an for Canada it will be a good test for us because we need to find if we've really improved the car in very strong areas that the Canadian circuit is all about - traction and top speed. So hopefully in Canada we will see a Ferrari that is competitive and that will be very positive for us, not only for that weekend but for rest of the season knowing that we are improving in the weak area of the car"
