Fred Makowiecki and Stef Dusseldorp won the FIA GT Championship race in their Hexis McLaren on Sunday, taking the lead in the drivers' championship in the process.

The Hexis McLaren of Fred Makowiecki and Stef Dusseldorp rounded off a perfect weekend by winning the FIA GT Championship race in Navarra, Spain on Sunday. 

Makowiecki had produced a stunning drive to win the qualifying race from the back of the grid the day before and made a great start in his McLaren. 

Further down the field the second McLaren of Gregoire Demoustier was running second for the opening half of the race, but fantastic pit stops from the All Inkl team meant that the McLaren was jumped by both Mercedes.

At the pit stop for the Hexis McLaren there was a small panic when the car wouldn't start again after Dusseldorp had taken his place behind the wheel but the lead was big enough that the Dutch driver still came out in the lead when the McLaren got going again.

Marc Basseng and Markus Winkelhock continued their form to finish second in their Mercedes SLS after winning the Nurburgring 24 Hours the previous weekend, while team mates Thomas Jager and Nicky Pastorelli were third.

However, the day belonged to Makowiecki and Dusseldorp as they finished 12 seconds ahead of the Mercedes as they look the lead in the overall drivers' championship.
