Muller started from pole position for round nine of the season on Sunday.

The Frenchman just managed to hold off Chevrolet team-mate Robert Huff for the lead around the first corner, but Gabriele Tarquini was not so fortunate.

The Italian's SEAT was clipped from behind and he hit Huff, which forced him wide, before returning to the pit-lane and retiring from the race.

Back on the track, Yvan Muller was safely in front, but second place was being keenly contested by his team-mates Huff and Alain Menu.

Muller led a Chevrolet one-two-three for his fifth win of the season, while Huff took second ahead of Menu in third.

In round 10, crowd favourite Norbert Michelisz took the chequered flag. He bagan the round fifth on the grid, but made a great start down the outside before cutting inside pole-sitter Franz Engstler for the lead around the first corner.

Oriola challenged Michelisz for the lead in the early stages, but the BMW driver would not let the Spaniard pass.

Meanwhile, Menu gained ground on Michelisz in the closing stages, but was unable to catch the leader.

Much to the delight of his home crowd, Michelisz took the chequered flag for his first win of the season and second in World Touring Car Championships.
