Sergio Perez is convinced he will remain with Sauber for the rest of the season, but that will not stop rumours linking him with a switch to Ferrari.

Perez's stunning drive to second place in last week's Malaysian Grand Prix saw the young Mexican come of age in Formula One.

Speaking at a press conference in his home town of Guadalajara in Mexico on Friday he said he took pride in the Ferrari rumours but he said he was 100 per cent committed to Sauber and he was sure Ferrari were committed to Felipe Massa, the man he would replace if he joined the Italian marque.

"Well, to be considered in such a place is something I take pride in. But I am very conscious that those are only rumours. There is nothing. I am 100 per cent committed to my team Sauber. "I think we had a lack of aggression in our strategy. We should have taken more risks. And there were factors we couldn't get, for instance: once Fernando (Alonso) passed me by and changed the tyres before I did he got an advantage over me. It was really hard to reach him again, and when I made it my tyres were already worn out. So it was not easy at all. There was only one race lane. outside the lane it was wet, and that made it easy to lose control of the car"
