Marussia released the first images of their new car on Monday ahead of the Formula 1 season.

And just look at this beauty.

The Cosworth-powered racer was unveiled at Silverstone during a promotional event, where driver Timo Glock put it through its paces.

It was a delayed announcement as last week Marussia pulled out of planned F1 testing near Barcelona after the MR01 failed an FIA crash test.

Marussia's drivers Timo Glock and Charles Pic will be the men behind the machine.

They're relatively new off the block.

Charles Pic is in his maiden F1 year, having been fourth in the GP2 feeder series in 2011

Whilst Timo Glock finished 25th in the drivers' standings with Virgin last year.

They're both excited to finally have the car on the road.

"After such a difficult time I think for everyone it's a big relief to see the car going out and doing the first couple of laps without any problems so far Sure there are little tweaks to do but it's nothing dramatic at the moment which is positive and it shows we did good work over the winter time. We are just a bit behind the schedule at the minute."

"Very excited. Our new car looks great. So looking forward to getting all the information and prepare for Melbourne."

The car failed just one of 18 tests, which was for rear-impact.

But it must pass it before the team can race in the new season's opening grand prix in Australia on the 18th March.
