SuggestedLeadIn: The International Sailing Federation head of competitions Alastair Fox plays down the alleged danger of polluted water in Rio de Janeiro before next year's Olympic Games.

Script: SOUNDBITE (English) Alastair Fox, ISAF head of competitions:

"I think, you know, in the sport of sailing, in every race there can be things in the water. So, we were in Perth (Australia) for World Championships in 2011 and a few boats had problems with seaweed. Another boat hit a shark one day. There are lots of thing in the water that can affect racing. I don't think anyone is expecting to have an ocean that is completely clean and free of debris. It's part of the sport, we race in a natural environment, sometimes there is rubbish, sometimes there isn't. I think that what we are trying to do is ensure that, as far as we can and as far as is possible, we offer race course areas that are free of rubbish. But no one can ever guarantee a completely clean race course."
