SOUNDBITE (English) Mick Fanning, Three time world champion:

"Mate, I am happy to not even compete again. Like seriously. To walk away from that... I am just so stoked and... Oh man!"

SOUNDBITE (English) Mick Fanning, Three time world champion:

"I was just cruising. Just waiting for my turn. My opportunity. And I knew Julian (WIlson) was down on the point. I felt like I was just about to start moving and get going. Just start paddling again. And then all of a sudden I just had this instinct that someone was behind me. And then, all of a sudden, I got pulled underwater. And then the thing came up. And I was on my board and it was right there. I saw the whole thing just thrashing around but I was getting dragged under by my leg rope and then I felt like it kicked me off but it was still there going - I was still attached to my board. I felt like punched it a couple of times. And then it was dragging me underwater. I felt like it was dragging me underwater. And all of a sudden my leg rope broke and I was just like 'All right'. And I just started swimming. I was swimming and screaming. And I was yelling at Jules (Julian Wilson) to move as well. But he was coming at me. What a legend! Just coming at me and coming after me and then I was just like swimming in and just turned around and I just had this thought: 'What if it comes and has another go at me?' And so I just turned around to at least see if coming. And before I knew it the boat was there. The jet skis were there. And we were in safety. I just just can't believe it."
