    Script:

It was the sweet taste of success for Ryan Hunter-Reay after winning his first IndyCar race this year at Iowa Speedway.

20-year-old Sage Karam's aggression drew the ire of Ed Carpenter after a robust battle towards the end of the race. The 34-year-old confronted the rookie in the pitlane immediately afterwards.

Hunter-Reay was aided by points leader Juan Pablo Montoya; the Colombian suffering a suspension failure and hitting the wall on lap 10.

A number of other drivers were eliminated by single-car accidents, including English-born American Charlie Kimball.

As well as Monegasque Stefano Coletti.

Hunter-Reay fared better, securing his third win at the venue in four years.

The next race is the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio in two weeks' time.
