  • Intro:

Americans Taylor Gold and Kelly Clark have won the men's and women's half-pipe events at the Snowboard World Cup.

    Script:

Copper Mountain hosted the Snowboard World Cup opener and in the men's half-pipe event, Taylor Gold left it late to snatch the title from Zhang Yiwei, who went into the final round in the lead.

Gold won last season's half-pipe in Copper Mountain.

The American moved into the lead with a score of 96.75 for his final run.

Gold's compatriot Ben Ferguson also put in an excellent last run, with 94 points sealing third place on the podium.

Kelly Clark, who like Gold was aiming to win in Copper Mountain for a second year in succession, was the one to beat in the ladies' event.

The American improved on her first run score of 91.75 points with her second run, picking up 92.25.

In the third she couldn't be beaten.

Arielle Gold secured second place, while Hannah Teter completed an all-American podium.
