With Rally Deutschland coming to its conclusion on Sunday drivers knew it was all about finishing the race.Sadly for a number of the leaders that wasn't to be the case. Leader Jari-Matta Latvala crashed out after with just 4km remaining.Latvala was aiming for his second consecutive victory. He left Trier this morning with a 56.6sec lead over Meeke.Volkswagen have lost both Latvala and team-mate Sébastien Ogier to crashes this weekend and it brings to an end the team’s winning run of 12 events which started in Australia last year. The Finn's demise meant Briton Kris Meeke held a lead of 8.4 seconds over closest rival Thierry Neuville. Yet Meeke himself would crash into a wall and leave his title dreams in tatters. The race was then left for Thierry Neuville and surely he would have his wits about him to stay on the road. At the latest point of the Belgians drive, he holds a 35-second lead over fellow Hyundai driver and Spaniard Dani Sordo. One thing Neuville surely has at the forefront of his mind is to remain on the track as he reaches the Trier finish with a sizeable lead.
