Teenage racing driver Max Verstappen has signed a contract with Toro Rosso for the 2015 season.

Script:

He's fast and he's young, very young. Indeed Max Verstappen will become Formula One's youngest ever driver next season after signing for Toro Rosso. The 16-year-old is not phased by that prospect, it's just another step towards his ultimate goal.

SOUNDBITE (English) Max Verstappen, Toro Rosso:

"Well, next year, of course you want to be fast. I just try to be very consistent and not make too many mistakes. And I think that's the main goal for next year. And in the future of course I hope to become a world champion because that is also a dream."

He's clearly come a long way in a short space of time but it might surprise you that he's already been racing for 12 years.

SOUNDBITE (English) Max Verstappen, Toro Rosso:

"At four years old, I was at a go-karting track and I saw somebody driving who was even younger than me so I called my dad and said that I wanted to have a go-kart but he said no. He wanted me to start at six. But then after I kept pushing to have go-kart I finally started when I was four-and-a-half."

SOUNDBITE (English) Jos Verstappen, Former F1 driver and Max's Dad:

"Sometimes, yes. I have in my mind that it could be dangerous. But when you really look at it and you really think about it I think that those days motorsport is safe. Of course, always something can happen. But this is what we want to do or what Max wants to do and he is fit to race a racing car."

In 2015 he will be racing the best in the World when many his age will only just be learning a how to use a clutch.
