The sixth round of the World Rally Championship took place in Cagliari, Italy on Thursday - with the event's opening Shakedown test.

Former F1 driver Robert Kubica, who comes into the rally fresh from a weekend test in Sardinia, was the surprise pacesetter. Kubica was one tenth of a second quicker than Sebastien Ogier whilst Jari-Matti Latvala was a further two-tenths of a second back.

Most drivers tackled just the minimum two runs but Henning Solberg completed four and set the fourth fastest time on his final pass, just 0.5 seconds slower than Kubica.

Meanwhile Andreas Mikkelsen stopped for a full minute during his first run with an electrical problem but was fifth quickest in his second pass.
