Jari-Matti Latvala completed a convincing victory in the WRC's (World Rally Championship) Rally Argentina on Sunday (May 11th) to close the gap on Championship leader Sebastien Ogier to 24 points.

Jari-Matti Latvala was the man to beat on the fourth and final day of the Rally Argentina on Sunday.

His Volkswagen Motorsport teamate Sebastien Ogier did all he could to reduce Latvala's 31.2 second overnight lead, but the defending WRC Champion had to settle for second place.

Volkswagen Motorsport's hopes of dominating the podium were dashed by Citroen's Kris Meeke.

The British driver ending a torrid run of crashes to record a second podium of the season.

The third VW man, Andreas Mikkelson, suffered a mechanical problem on Friday afternoon, but the Norwegian recovered to take a respectable fourth position.

But there was no doubting who the day belonged to.

Latvala eventually sealing his first career win in Argentina and second of the season to make it a ninth consecutive win for Volkswagen - a WRC record.

The Finn's dominant display also sees him close the gap on Ogier in the Championship standings to 24 points.
